Jennifer Ragonese
Designing tools for an educator who believes every child deserves to be seen—and to read well
Jennifer Ragonese is a reading specialist, classroom teacher, and equity-focused educator working in Newark, New Jersey. Her work centers reading as a human right—something all students deserve access to, regardless of background, identity, or learning needs.
We partnered with Jen to bring her research, writing, and curriculum tools to life through design that honors both her message and her students.
Supporting Educators with Thoughtful Materials
We designed her piece, “Five Questions to Ask About LGBTQIA+ Books in the Classroom,” as a free downloadable resource. The design is clear, respectful, and easy to share—created to support conversation, not overwhelm.
The guide is now used by educators across New Jersey and beyond.

Creating Early Reader Books That Reflect Real Families
We illustrated and designed the book, creating a warm, inviting reading experience that also aligns with literacy goals. The story features a loving, queer family and follows early phonics patterns—offering kids both familiarity and affirmation as they learn to read. We hope to support Jen through her next drafts and final publication!
This kind of work doesn’t get mass-published. But it’s deeply needed. And we’re proud to help it exist.
